Location: Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area - Irwindale, CA The Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area is a United States Army Corps of Engineers' Facility and a unit of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation System Off-Season Fun at the Faire!Dec. 28 - 31, 2009 - Pasadena Tournament Of Roses® - Expo VillageExperience a unique event when the Renaissance Pleasure Faireand the Pasadena Tournament of Roses team up at their Expo Village at the Rose Bowl for four days (Dec. 28th through Dec 31st). The Tournament of Roses Expo Village offers a chance to behold the parade floats as they are decorated for the upcoming Tournament of Roses Parade® on January 1st. Admission there is $7, children under 5 are free. This is an opportunity to be the first to see the intricate grain, seed and floral work carried out by hundreds of decorators. This year, outside the Brookside Pavilion viewing area, near the corner of Arroyo and Seco, the Faire will be hosting Craft Workshops on silk screening, leather working, etc. in the Village area. Additionally, a stage will be a flurry with several of our most popular acts. Craft workshops and stage performances will be scheduled throughout the
following days and hours:

Jan 6 - 9, 2010 - American Cinematheque's Medieval Film Festival at Grauman's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood!Kings and Queens, Knights and Jesters: four days of double features (Jan. 6 thru Jan. 9th, 2010) Medieval times and the Renaissance have long inspired filmmakers to create works both historical (THE LION IN WINTER, BECKET) and legendary (THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, EXCALIBUR), poignant (ROBIN AND MARIAN), hilarious (THE COURT JESTER), magical (THE SECRET OF KELLS), musical (A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT) and somber (KNIGHTRIDERS). These enduring tales range from Sherwood Forest to Camelot, from medieval France to rural modern-day Pennsylvania. Additionally, on Saturday the 9th, The Renaissance Pleasure Faire is transforming the Egyptian's Courtyard into an Elizabethan village from 12pm noon to 5 PM with food and merchants, performers and craft demonstrations. Wares will include fine clothes form Muscovy Trading Co. & great games and toys from Hallowed Tree as well as other wonderful artisans from our Faire. Traditional and humorous music will fill the air with the likes of Brigid's Daughters, Sportive Tricks, Ad Hoc Consortium, and Willie Banger. Villagers, Games, and sweet chocolates from Lady Rowley Sweets all will help create a sampling of what our Faire offers.
